Abstract Coughing is the body clearance of airway secretions or foreign objects inside the protective breathing reflex, the intensity and frequency of occurrence for clinical diagnosis and curative effect evaluation provide important information. This paper introduces a non-specific human cough sound recognition system, which is based on WINCE4.2, using MFCC, DTW as main algorithm and SQLCE as background storage management, fullfill the detection of the cough sound. Clinical experiments prove that the system is stable, which can conduct effective detection and storage of cough sound.
